This is our most recent Porsche project. Completed in August 2013.
Our customer wanted this vintage race car to be refurbished so that they could use it as a spectacular road car. The colour was also re-vamped from the old turquoise blue to a more classic ‘off white’.
The Porsche had a lot of rust and corrosion, particularly on the floor, which was completely replaced. Other areas of corrosion were sanded down and re-worked to get the body work to a good condition for the application of primer and top coat. This labour intensive project entailed two stages of primer, before the new top coat was applied.
See our gallery below for the different stages:
Here you can see the areas of corrosion and rust that were cut out and new parts were welded in to get a better finish.
The next stage was to knock out any dents and smooth down the body work ready for the first stage of primer.
This shows Stage One Primer – a spray polly filler that is sanded back and then the Stage Two Primer that is applied and flattened down for a perfect finish, then re-masked out ready for the top coat.
The top coat is applied to the body work and panels.
